East Asian nations continue to outperform others in offering the best education system in the world, and Hong Kong ranking at forth in 2015/2016. Twenty English language teaching Thai teachers from across Thailand had an opportunity to explore Hong Kong and to experience teaching environment in Hong Kong through our fifth ONE Teachers Educational Field Trip visiting YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College during 23 - 26 April 2016.

YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College ("YHKCC") was established in September 2003. It is the first secondary school sponsored by the YMCA of Hong Kong. YHKCC is a secondary school located in Tung Chung offering International style education based on the Christian faith and values. The school is operated under the Direct Subsidy Scheme of the Education Bureau, uses English as the medium of instruction and we are the only English-medium school in the islands district in Hong Kong. YHKCC is currently operating 38 classes in 6 year groups, the average class size is around 25, total of over 1,000 students, and offering both Hong Kong (HKDSE) and International curricula (i.e. IGCSE/ GCE A-levels). The students' education in YHKCC is enriched by this cultural diversity which gives a great preparation for life in today's globalised world. The aim of the school is to enable our students to become confident and happy 'global citizens', with equal respect for and values of one other's cultures.

Total of fourteen teachers from YHKCC, who are originally from overseas, joined workshop activiites with Thai teachers. Teachers exchanged their practices, teaching techniques, and experiences through a discussion workshop that focused on two main topics which were teaching English through literature, and teaching English as second language to students. ONE teachers also had a hands-on experience in observing teaching environment in YHKCC classrooms, along with observing different teaching techniques YHKCC teachers practice in teaching their students to promote high quality and effective learning environment. We have also visited cultural and tourist attraction places of Hong Kong.
